Those that have been
following me on Instagram know that I had my baby back in July and that although my life completely changed the evening The Bean took his first breathe, we have since gotten to know each other and are starting to settle into a routine that works for the two of us. I never thought that I'd love being a mom so much and I'm really lucky to be able to spend all my time with him. Having said that, I still enjoy having moments to myself and it wasn't until last week did I realize that I really missed blogging!
SO! I'm back! The Press Preview for SS13 Converse wasn't the first event I attended since The Bean's birth, but it was certainly one of the funnest! The event was held on the ground level of an industrial building, deep into the heart of Sai Ying Pun. So deep in that I seriously spent the better half of 15 minutes wandering around the area before accidentally stumbling upon the entrance. The food and drinks were being catered by Yardbird, hands down one of the trendiest and yummiest joints in town. They were serving their famous KFC (Korean fried chicken) but in BURGERS. And their grilled cheese sandwiches were scrumptious. To wash it all down, you had a choice between alcoholic and non-alcoholic lemonade served in traditional Hong Kong diner cups, complete with lids and straws. Anyway, enough about the food...on to the shoes!
I don't normally wear sneakers outside of the gym but when I do, Converse is pretty much all I wear. When I was heavily pregnant, I couldn't last more than 10 minutes in heels so my Converse sneakers got a lot of play in the final months. With the new collection, there's an explosion of colour; perfect for hot, sunny weather! I'm not really a pink-kinda-gal but these cute Marimekko x Converse sneakers really caught my eye. I'm not sure why, but I was crazy about Marimekko when I was pregnant and no doubt these would've been glued to my feet if they existed back then.
All in all, it was a fantastic night filled with great people, delicious food and an amazing new collection to look forward to next year spring!
