I always love visiting Tokyo. Having been there more than a dozen times now, I always find somewhere new to visit and something new to try and eat! I was treated to the most amazing wagyu beef the other night and I swear I have never had such good beef in my life! Alan and I love staying at the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo but didn't have time to have even a cocktail at their elegant jazz and cigar bar this trip because we were so busy running around the city! They are extremely well located (5 mins from Tokyo Station!) and everyone there knows who you are after just a day and greet you by name.
On my last day in Tokyo, we made a trip to Aoyama/Shibuya area and visited this cute little vintage store named Laila Vintage (https://laila.jp/) where they stock the most amazing selection of 60s and 70s designer vintage I've seen in Tokyo so far. They had an array of floral printed dresses from British brand, Clobber as well as Alaia, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent etc. I fell in love with a floral babydoll YSL dress but couldn't justify the 90,000 yen so left with a Ferragamo silk shirt that will surely be making its appearance on my Instagram (CashmereandCandy) very soon!
A special shoutout and thank you to Nylon Japan for giving me a little feature in your "It Girl 2014" section! As a mom, the idea of being considered even a girl anymore is good enough and to be alongside some of the coolest cats in Asia?! That's just mindblowingly flattering. I couldn't resist picking up a copy and grabbing a photo at one of the busiest and therefore more 'Tokyo' cross-walks! I got quite a few odd looks and maybe tripped over a business man or two, but it was totally worth it!
Nylon Japan's September is out now!
